Using Turbo Lister to List on eBay

This guide discusses how to use eBay's Turbo Lister with Shopster's dropshipper services.

Although many of the steps detailed here will give you information about how dropshipper services could work with other auction software, the primary focus of this walkthrough is to get you started with eBay's auction listing tool.

Before You Begin

You need four things:

  • An eBay account. If you don’t already have an eBay account, go www.ebay.com to sign up.
  • A copy of Turbo Lister. Get one here
  • A PayPal account. PayPal is the most common way for buyers to pay for products on eBay. If you don’t already have one, go to PayPal to sign up.
  • A Network Profile. If you haven’t already created a Network Profile (within the Network tab), do this first. In order to add products to your inventory, you need to make connections with other Merchants, a complete profile explaining your business will help them decide whether or not to accept your connection request. Plus it helps other suppliers proactively seek you out as a quality seller.

How Do I Find and Add Products to My Inventory?

Before you begin adding products, we suggest you browse the Warehouse first and create connections with Suppliers of interest. You must successfully connect with a supplier in order to add products their products to your inventory.

Browsing Products and Making Connections:

Reminder: Product prices will become visible after you have made a successful connection with another Merchant.

  1. Go into the Inventory tab and click on the Warehouse link
  2. Search the Warehouse for products of interest by entering product keywords into the search field in the orange search bar (ex. skillets, ipods, etc.). Filter products by clicking on the links in the right hand navigation to narrow your search. (You can remove filters and widen your search by clicking the x in the filter box that will appear above your search results).
  3. Note: Once you’ve connected to a variety of Network Merchants, you can also filter your search to that Merchant’s inventory. In the My Network box in the right hand navigation, select a merchant and click on their name.
  4. Once you’ve found a product of interest, click on the View Product button
  5. Review product details, descriptions and supplier information. If this looks like a merchant you’d enjoy working with in the Add tab click on the supplier link.
  6. You will be redirected to the Merchant’s profile page where you can read up on that Merchant and learn about their business operations. Assess their complete product line and make a decision as to whether this is someone you’d like to connect to and do business with. If the answer is yes, click the Add Merchant to My Network button. This Merchant will automatically receive a message requesting a connection.
  7. Once a Merchant receives your connection request they will visit your profile and assess whether or not they wish to connect with you. You will receive a message in your Message Center when they have approved or declined your request.

Repeat the above steps as many times as desired to build out your Merchant base. When you feel that you have an adequate number of Merchants to support your business, you’ll want to begin adding products.

Adding Products

  1. Return to the Warehouse and use your My Network search filters to find the products you want to add to your store.
  2. Click the View Product button to pull up the View Product window. Do a final review of the product details, including the product price (which is now visible to you)
  3. When you’re ready to add a product, return to the Add tab. You’ll notice there are three drop down menus for you to consider:
    1. The destination option will automatically select your store. Disregard it, everyone receives a store with their account, and it doesn’t apply to you if you only want to list products on eBay.
    2. Use the category drop-down menu and choose one of the categories we selected earlier. While this step isn’t necessary it can help you organize your products within the Manage Inventory page so you might find it useful to do this.
    3. The margins category is used to choose how much profit you want to make on each item. The higher the margin the more money you make on each product. A lower margin makes you less money per product but you might sell more because of the lower price. Leave the margin as is, You can change margins later (You have the option to either set your prices manually within the Manage Inventory page or to create margin groups by going to the Set Pricing Page within the Inventory Tab)
  4. Click the Add Product to Store button
  5. Repeat as many times as desired.

Or

You can add more than one product at a time:

  1. Select the check box beside an item to add a product. You can select as few or as many boxes as you want on the same page – make sure the products belong in the same category.
  2. Click the Add to Storefront button.
  3. A pop-up window will appear along with the same options available to you when adding individual products.
    1. Select Destination - your storefront (this is automatically selected)
    2. Select Category - one of the product categories you created earlier
    3. Your Selling Price - the margins category
  4. Click the Add Products button to add your selected items to a category.

Repeat these steps to add additional products.

How Do I View a List of My Products?

  1. Click on Inventory tab and then click on the Manage link.
  2. You will be redirected to your Inventory Management page. This page allows you to manage and buy your existing inventory. You can change pricing, remove products from your inventory, purchase items from the Merchant Network and more.
