Payment Gateways
A payment gateway allows you to collect payments, either by credit card or PayPal, for your orders. You must have a payment gateway in order to have a functioning store; however you are not limited to just one. Depending on the services you offer, you are able to create multiple gateways, one per provider.
How to Use:
- Under the Settings heading click on the Payment Gateways link
- Click on the Add A Payment Gateway button to begin
- From the Payment Gateway Type dropdown menu, choose the provider you have an account with
- Select the Currencies and Credit Cards your store will accept
- Check-off the Active box as this will ensure that your gateway is turned “on”
- Enter in the Provider Settings as applicable.
- In the Details section, name your gateway and add any comments you feel are necessary.
- Click the Save button
- Your new payment gateway will display in My Gateways table on your main Payment Gateways page. To edit or view an existing gateway's details simply click into the link provided under the Name heading.
Providers Supported by Shopster:
- Authorize.Net: An Authorize.Net Payment Gateway account enables you to authorize, settle, and manage credit card and electronic check payments. To sign up for a Authorize.net account click here
- Beanstream (Canada): Beanstream is one of the leading payment gateway solutions for Canadian merchants. The Beanstream online credit card processing gateway supports Canadian and US dollar transactions for the most popular credit cards. To apply for a Beanstream account contact Lina Valentim at 1-888-472-0811. Please indicate the application is for your Shopster storefront.
- Paypal Express: PayPal’s Express Checkout lets you accept both credit cards and PayPal payments through a secure PayPal page. Consumers will need a PayPal account to complete checkout. No monthly fee.
- Paypal Standard: This is PayPal’s payment solution for merchants without an Internet Merchant Account. You are able to accept all major credit cards and PayPal payments right away. Payments are made on a secure PayPal page and funds are immediately received in your PayPal account. No monthly fee.
- PayPal Pro: PayPal’s all in one online payment processing solution. You are able to accept all major credit cards and PayPal payments, as well as orders by phone, fax, and mail. Unlike PayPal standard, buyers paying by credit card never leave your site, so they enjoy a seamless shopping experience. The Express Checkout feature is also included in the package.
Note: For PayPal Standard, you do not need to add in an identity token unless you have your Payment Data Transfer (PDT) set up.
